Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Cough sweets. Mint boiled sweets.
Palate
Syrupy without being cloying. Fisherman's Friend. Delicious.
Finish
Gently warming. Soothing.
Comment
An old-fashioned whisky for an old-fashioned winter's evening. Wins points for being cuddly rather than complex.

Marcin Miller

Nose
Not too much going on – dumb nose flattens out further when reduced.
Palate
Lots of wood influence dominating the whisky. Dried out and lacking passion.
Finish
Medium and warming.
Comment
As a fan of Benromach, I was surprised at how little character came through and felt that the whisky had been overpowered.
