- Nose
- Cough sweets. Mint boiled sweets.
- Palate
- Syrupy without being cloying. Fisherman's Friend. Delicious.
- Finish
- Gently warming. Soothing.
- Comment
- An old-fashioned whisky for an old-fashioned winter's evening. Wins points for being cuddly rather than complex.

- Nose
- Not too much going on – dumb nose flattens out further when reduced.
- Palate
- Lots of wood influence dominating the whisky. Dried out and lacking passion.
- Finish
- Medium and warming.
- Comment
- As a fan of Benromach, I was surprised at how little character came through and felt that the whisky had been overpowered.
