Tasting Notes

Dave Broom Nose Deeply sherried. Like being plunged into a deep, dank, autumn wood. Liquorice and cold Darjeeling tea coupled with wet wool/leather. More sulphur with water. Funky and mature. Palate Rich and not as tannic as the nose suggests. Nutty, rich and mellow. Good depth. Finish Treacle toffee. Comment A big powerful bruiser.

Arthur Motley Nose Fruit cake mix with cherries, ginger, prune syrup, tangerine and treacle toffee. Coffee and demerara sugar. Palate Gingerbread, smoked venison, prunes in Armagnac. Nice, broad mouth-coating texture on the tongue. Finish Traces of burnt, pork crackling. Comment Cracking whisky led by an intense relationship with its sherry cask.
