Nose
Forceful and pungent. Fresh fruits. Seems to have good age and a certain exoticism. Water accentuates this sandalwood note. Palate
Great intensity of flavour and pretty hot without water, the addition of which calms things, shows some nuttiness but also exposing a little too much grippy wood. Lacks flavour impact. Finish
A little nutty bitterness. Comment
After a nose that can only be described as “hairy” it rather loses focus.
Arthur Motley
Nose
Mandarin, varnished oak and marzipan. Chocolate orange and some pear. With a little time some musty, damp vegetation notes appear which are not unpleasant. Mint toffee too. Palate
Lots of orange, milk chocolate and some sappy oak. The texture begins sweet and syrupy but is quickly dried out by the wood. Finish
Mouth-drying, slightly astringent oakiness. Comment
The oak borders on intrusive at times, but just managed to restrain itself.
