- Nose
- Quite deep and hairy with a slightly charred, meaty edge. Into the earth again, this time with a sulphur edge. Medlar-like fruit with water.
- Palate
- Big, robust and mouthfilling. Long and quite deep with rooty, almost smoky notes.
- Finish
- Meaty again.
- Comment
- A good example of a little seen distillery.

- Nose
- Grassy. Cereal. Muesli. Dry hay. A slight sour note in the back. Fermenting pears.
- Palate
- Round, mouthcoating. Delightful feel. Rich fruity and oaky combination. Sweet. Plum and date chutney. Spicy (ginger).
- Finish
- Lingering, sweet and elegant.
- Comment
- An excellent whisky which has reached its peak. More time in oak and it would lose its charm.
