- Nose
- Very, very pale with plenty smoke, rapeseed oil. Hot sand. Delicate
and sweet.
- Palate
- Lemon grass and smoke with a nodule of dessert apple like sweetness then begins to dry. Has decent impact in the centre. Balanced and restrained.
- Finish
- Hot and peppery, then flour.
- Comment
- Perfectly acceptable.

- Nose
- Briny. Smoky, even sooty. Creosote. Cold ashes. Wet sand and pebbles. A
touch of bog myrtle. Haddock.
- Palate
- Satin-like, with a solid combination of sweet maltiness and smoked fish. Hint of dark chocolate, reflecting a slight bitterness. Fizzy at start but soothing on soft spices.
- Finish
- Very dry and sooty. With a licoriced come back.
- Comment
- A straightforward mariner which retains a pleasant freshness. You have
got to like sooty whiskies.
