Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Very fragrant. Slight sherry, lots of seaweed, hint of salt and soda-bread. Palate Malty. Soft, syrupy. Marzipan. Almonds. Grassy. Finish Peat comes surging through. Comment A delicious, appetising, new expression of Black Bottle. As a blend, it is a star.

Jim Murray Nose Grassy grain thins out the deep peat. Saltiness adds depth and compliments peppery notes. Palate Chewy and smoky. Flavours intensify as the rich, clean and oily peat really kick in. Malty too. Finish Sensational. Waves of peat give way to cocoa/coffee effect. Unbelievably long for a blend. Comment Simmering, full-blooded blend that celebrates its 100% Islay malt roots by taking no prisoners whatsoever. Brilliant.
