Nose
Leafy. Green. Slightly spirity. Palate
Nutty. Chewy. Mint humbugs. Finish
Minty. Fragrant. Smoky oaky. Comment
Enjoyable, with an appropriate touch of earthy rawness, but not as statuesque as this elegant whisky can be.
Dave Broom
Nose
Typical Mortlach meatiness with soft ripe banana, bourbon creams, burnt toffee and smoke. In time a sulphury note and some mustiness. Palate
Starts lightly honeyed then deepens into those roasting tin/meat reduction flavours with a peaty drive. Wood is slightly abrasive. Finish
Hot, chewy then smoke. Comment
Considerably less concentrated than other Mortlachs on the market.
