Nose
Some peat. Grassy. Palate
Sweet and slightly rooty. Candied angelica. Starts smooth and sweet, then develops a curiously fibrous dryness. Finish
Liquorice. Pepper. Comment
Slightly gin-like. I have preferred bottlings that had more contribution from the wood. A touch of vanilla would round out the flavours.
Dave Broom
Nose
Crisp, malty and nutty with a light earthy note. Palate
Sweet to start, but the wood stands slightly apart from the spirit. Young but has a delicate charm. Finish
Lemon, then butter. Comment
Young but attractive. A distillery to watch.
