Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith Nose Fragrant, oak and malt, very delicate wood smoke. Palate Some oiliness, orange juice, again delicate smoke, suggestion of peat. Finish Dry, slightly acrid, smoke from cheroots. Comment Doesn't leap out of the glass at you, but well balanced and unthreatening.

Dave Broom Nose Initially malty, becoming rounded and buttery with water. There's olde English marmalade, delicate woodsmoke wood shavings, log, cigar ash. Palate Lightly perfumed and quite sweet. Orange peel, stewed apricot, tinned prune and aromatic smoke. Long and smooth. Finish Dry, ash-like. Comment A good introductory malt.
