- Nose
- Lavender mixed with salt and dried sweet orange peel and lime jelly. Water
manages to tone down the perfume.
- Palate
- Dry and then the lavender along parma violet and chalk. Pretty dry and
light on mid-palate with barley and then saved by juicy fruits.
- Finish
- The perfumed note hangs in, but isn't as overt as the nose suggests.
- Comment
- That perfume problem that bedevils old MBD malts knocks this back.

- Nose
- Floral, very perfumy. Freesia, carnation. A hint of geranium. Green pepper.
Blancmange. New calfskin. Barley sugar. Quite complex and multilayered. Very enticing.
- Palate
- Silky, gently flowing. Parma violet. Salty.
- Finish
- Lingering, nutty. Smoked almonds.
- Comment
- So difficult to assess when you have only a half a tablespoon sample! The
nose is more complex than the palate, overwhelmed by parma violet.
