Nose
Lavender mixed with salt and dried sweet orange peel and lime jelly. Water manages to tone down the perfume.
Palate
Dry and then the lavender along parma violet and chalk. Pretty dry and light on mid-palate with barley and then saved by juicy fruits.
Finish
The perfumed note hangs in, but isn't as overt as the nose suggests.
Comment
That perfume problem that bedevils old MBD malts knocks this back.

Nose
Floral, very perfumy. Freesia, carnation. A hint of geranium. Green pepper. Blancmange. New calfskin. Barley sugar. Quite complex and multilayered. Very enticing.
Palate
Silky, gently flowing. Parma violet. Salty.
Finish
Lingering, nutty. Smoked almonds.
Comment
So difficult to assess when you have only a half a tablespoon sample! The nose is more complex than the palate, overwhelmed by parma violet.
