- Nose
- Very aromatic. Quite heavy. Unusually peaty. A touch of sulphur.
- Palate
- Creamy. Passion fruit. Iron. Then sandy and salty.
- Finish
- Crescendo of spicy flavours, especially cayenne pepper.
- Comment
- The whisky for a Baltimore crab feast. Why not a Bruichladdich crab feast, come to that?

- Nose
- Elegant, complex and layered: pot pourri, dried peel, cashew, lightly caramelised fruits, praline, pistachio, vanilla, clootie dumpling.
- Palate
- Builds very very slowly in the mouth. Fresh, and though seems delicate has a mellow weight. Complex.
- Finish
- Long, softens.
- Comment
- Superb balance and complexity. A belter.
