Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Salty. Seaweedy. Oily. Passion fruit. Spicy. Mace? Palate Light touch of sherry and toasty malt. Spicy. Pepper. Finish Firm, dry, appetising. Comment Shows that this whisky can handle some age and sherry.

Jim Murray Nose Some rich, softly honied, gently waxed, leathery Bourbony notes; a good age and a light malt. Palate Truly stunning balance achieved by the massive sweet malt and the old oak. Deep Bourbon-style notes offering a coffee fudge depth. Finish Some Demerara sweetness but is over whelmed by the mounting sweet oak. Never dries. Comment Why don't Gordon and MacPhail bottle at cask strength more often? This is fabulous.
