- Nose
- More lifted than the last one with dried lemon peel, dried mint, lavender and chocolate. Oak and orange blossom.
- Palate
- A let down on the palate. Flour sacks and some fragrance overwhelmed by a bitter oaky edge (accentuated by water). While it has energy and sweetness the tannins bite deep and bite hard.
- Finish
- Bitter.
- Comment
- The wood is simply too aggressive for the spirit.
85
- Nose
- Very fruity and perfumy. Vetiver. Apricot and almond tart. An appetising sourness. Kumquat, pink grapefruit. Layered. Becomes creamier. Hint of pecan pie.
- Palate
- Like in the previous sample, wood overwhelms fruit at start. Green tea. Cigar box, blackcurrant jelly.
- Finish
- Rich, lingering, fruity.
- Comment
- A better balance than the preceding one. A beautiful after dinner dram.
