Nose
Deep and quite autumnal. Plenty of dark chocolate and bramble like fruit. Orange peel and thick toffee. This dominates the nose making it the sweetest so far. Palate
Maraschino along with some anise. Concentrated mid-palate showing a lightly bitter edge but balanced by the huge. Cooked black fruits. Water though exposes the oak. Finish
Chocolate. Comment
Has blunt charm rather than complexity. A dancing bear, but don’t give it any water.
Dominic Roskrow
Nose
Tangerine, traces of cocoa powder. Palate
Acerbic. Lots of oak, a touch of cocoa. Softens quickly. Finish
Moves on rapidly leaving a trace of fruit. Comment
A traffic light whiskey:rampant red nose, cautious amber body, and green for gone on the finish.
