Nose
Deep and honeyed with a mature nose surprising for its stated age. Dry amontillado, maltiness, increasingly fruity before an aroma like a steaming, damp kilt emerges.
Palate
Sweet, nutty, dried fruits, toffee. Has presence and with great length.
Finish
Gingerbread.
Comment
What was already a very fine (if underrated) 12yo has been given greater depth with a bump up in strength and non chill filtering. It's now one of the best on the market.

Nose
Oaky with a touch of sulphur. Wet cellar, hot rubber. Fern. Opening on fruity notes. Sultanas, orange peel. Crab apples. Spices unwind slowly.
Palate
Smooth at first then the oak holds the taste buds in a grippy embrace. Bitter chocolate then a sweet note and back to astringency again.
Finish
Dry, tight, astringent, spicy.
Comment
Wood is overwhelming, especially on the palate. Water does not help at all. Lacks balance and charm.
