Nose
Phenolic. Creosote. Dying bonfire. In the back a sweet core. Vanilla biscuit, oatcake and pear nectar.
Palate
Sweet and caressing. The alcohol is beautifully mastered. Refreshing grassy notes. Mint and lemon. The smokiness is aerial and fades away without drying the palate.
Finish
Sweet and fresh.
Comment
An appetising islander. On the sweet side. Bring the langoustines and the scallops.

Nose
The peat is quite up front, coal buckets and an old wood fire. There is sweetness too here, syrup waffles and soft fruits.
Palate
Very lush and dense. Plenty of sweetness and clingy oak. Citrus notes come through the gentle smoke.
Finish
Again lush.
Comment
A well balanced whisky and certainly one for the outdoors.
