79- Nose
- Crunchie bars with a little blueberry then rubbery notes suggesting ex-sherry casks at work. Better with water. Malty/nutty with some liquorice.
- Palate
- Rosehips and a slightly syrupy quality. Chewy,glossy,gingery. There's a lot of oak in here alongside hazelnut chocolate. Just a little flabby which pulls it down a notch.
- Finish
- Oaky,slightly drying. Hint of smoke.
- Comment
- Seems to be slightly hidden somehow. Maybe it just needs time to settle in the bottle.

75- Nose
- Nutty. Intense. Toasted hazelnut developing into a creamier praline note. Then fruit appears. Cider apples. Some orange peel. And a hint of raisins coated in chocolate. Oak is never far.
- Palate
- Crisp and dry. With a crunchy feel. A sweet malty start.
- Finish
- Warm,dry and soothing on nutty notes.
- Comment
- A well constructed dram but a bit stiff. I wish the alcohol was better mastered. A drop of water rounds it up a little but tends to add bitterness as well.
