Nose
Fruitier. Lemon grass. Honeydew melon. Palate
Much richer. Syrup, vanilla, ginger, then spicy smokiness. Finish
Deliciously smoky, lively and warming. Quite aggressive. Comment
Hardly elegant but a muscular malt of a style that is sadly vanishing from the Highlands. I greatly enjoyed it.
Jim Murray
Nose
A massive custard-vanilla theme and gentle, mildly peated malt. Oaky, mildly complex but always attractive and effective. Palate
Mouth-watering. Strong waves of sweet malt. Spicy. Waxier and fuller bodied. Finish
Excellent length with trademark sweet vanilla recognisable through the wrinkles of oaky old age. Comment
Shows some signs of deterioration but, like many a good oldie, tells an interesting tale.
