- Nose
- Fruitier. Lemon grass. Honeydew melon.
- Palate
- Much richer. Syrup, vanilla, ginger, then spicy smokiness.
- Finish
- Deliciously smoky, lively and warming. Quite aggressive.
- Comment
- Hardly elegant but a muscular malt of a style that is sadly vanishing from the Highlands. I greatly enjoyed it.

- Nose
- A massive custard-vanilla theme and gentle, mildly peated malt. Oaky, mildly complex but always attractive and effective.
- Palate
- Mouth-watering. Strong waves of sweet malt. Spicy. Waxier and fuller bodied.
- Finish
- Excellent length with trademark sweet vanilla recognisable through the wrinkles of oaky old age.
- Comment
- Shows some signs of deterioration but, like many a good oldie, tells an interesting tale.
