Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Warm. Gently smoky and peaty.
Palate
Big, syrupy-smooth. Dry maltiness. Again, gentle smokiness. Touch of the vegetal character typical in Clynelish.
Finish
Dry. Slightly bitter. Leafy. Appetising.
Comment
Firm, dry, confident. Not quite as expressive as the best bottlings.

Dave Broom

Nose
A contrary nose: clotted cream, honeycomb, green mango/peach stone, orange honey and welly boots. Water brings out burnt grass and wax.
Palate
Rounded, sweet and rich: peach juice with a soft, waxy texture. Candle wax and overripe fruit.
Finish
Dry and firm.
Comment
I love Clynelish to bits but this was almost too much even for me.
