- Warm. Gently smoky and peaty.
- Palate
- Big, syrupy-smooth. Dry maltiness. Again, gentle smokiness. Touch of the vegetal character typical in Clynelish.
- Finish
- Dry. Slightly bitter. Leafy. Appetising.
- Comment
- Firm, dry, confident. Not quite as expressive as the best bottlings.

- A contrary nose: clotted cream, honeycomb, green mango/peach stone, orange honey and welly boots. Water brings out burnt grass and wax.
- Palate
- Rounded, sweet and rich: peach juice with a soft, waxy texture. Candle wax and overripe fruit.
- Finish
- Dry and firm.
- Comment
- I love Clynelish to bits but this was almost too much even for me.
