- Nose
- A stonker of a nose: damp cellars, waxed canvas, peat smoke and brine.
- Palate
- Barry White smooth. This is good; fresh soda bread, marshmallows toasting on open peat fire. Vanilla ice cream and now wood smoke.
- Finish
- Long and unctuous. Chilli chocolate.
- Comment
- This is some bottling; great distillate matured to perfection in excellent casks. One for the Islay bore in your life.

- Nose
- Peaty, slightly greasy/lanolin/wet sheep. A little numb (high alcohol) then plenty of sooty smoke. Wet army blankets. Seems young.
- Palate
- Explosion of oily notes, oats. Has balance, but the spirit seems gawky. A pure sweet centre. Smoke is like hot tar on a road.
- Finish
- Slightly musty.
- Comment
- Has impact and aggression, but a bit one dimensional.
