- Nose
- Clean, dry, peat-smoke fragrance. A hint of the sea?
- Palate
- Vanilla. Syrupy-sweet flavours. Grassy. Sundried grass.
- Finish
- Lemon grass. Complex spiciness. Gingery, dry. Very long.
- Comment
- The best Banff I have tasted. Shows its age but the finish reveals real depth and staying power.

- Nose
- Over ripe banana and papaya star in this fruity production. Otherwise hot and slightly over oaked.
- Palate
- For all the alcoholic oomph, it's rather thin taste-wise, except for an exceptionally sweet maltiness which grows rather charmingly and is the high point.
- Finish
- Thinner still, despite a hint of cocoa. Still hot and off-balanced by the bullying oak.
- Comment
- This was probably a half decent dram 12 years ago.
