- Nose
- Clean, rich, rummy. Later flowery dryness (rose petals, rosewood, violets?).
- Palate
- Juicy. Raisiny. Spicy (nutmeg?). Hard toffee. Vanilla, of course. Tobacco-like. Complex.
- Finish
- Firm. Smooth. Endless echoes of flavour. Hugely warming.
- Comment
- I especially like bourbons when they are big and robust. This is both hearty and complex. A wonderful winter warmer.

- Nose
- Heady, beeswaxy, polished oak, rich vanilla and a trace of lavender.
- Palate
- Bursting with prickling peppery spice. Toffeeish and salty intensities infuse the grains.
- Finish
- Lingering with sweet, raisiny, smoky and salty outcrops.
- Comment
- A ripe age for bourbon but this one shows great balance as the wood has not dominated.
