- Nose
- Powerful seashore aromas.
- Palate
- Firm, dry, salty. Olivey bitterness. Black olives.
- Finish
- Intensely pepper, salty. Slight iodine.
- Comment
- Youthfully powerful. Almost raw flavours, without being in any way spirity. Many Islay-lovers enjoy their whiskies young. This is a robust example.

- Nose
- Fresh and slightly green, subtle and very sweet pea. Quite oily and gristy.
- Palate
- Immediately sweet with a consuming and fabulously oily peatiness. Little complexity beyond peppery smoke and the youth of the malt.
- Finish
- Remains young and wonderfully intense with the peat clinging on as some drier oaky tones emerge.
- Comment
- Peatiness is unyielding and unsubtle but enormously enjoyable.
