Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Oaky. Quite dark too. Sherry influence. Prune juice. Strong coffee. Less spirity than the younger ones. But the rum influence is still there. Palate Sweet, smooth. Sugar prevails. Coffee liquor. Crushed walnuts. Demerara again... Finish Short and quickly vanishing. A trace of oak. Comment More smooth than the previous ones. But I still can’t find if it’s whisky there.

Dave Broom Nose Soft and sweet. Gives the illusion of age, but is simply sweeter and over extracted. Figgy, stewed tea, pomegranate syrup, some rye/chicory notes. Palate Not as grippy as nose suggests. Camp coffee (undiluted), toffee, prune juice, molasses. Thick. Finish Bitter. Liquorice, claggy. Comment This is confected rubbish.
