Nose
Sweet and sugary. Cane syrup with a hint of liquorice and barley sugar. The sweetness reminds more of a liqueur than a whisky. Palate
Sweet with a strong Demerara flavour. A rum in disguise? More burning than spicy. Finish
Bittersweet, not holding long but leaves an astringent aftertaste. Comment
Hard to believe this is a whisky. Closer to a rum.
Dave Broom
Nose
Medium intensity, slightly leafy with a hint of caraway. In time a youthful edgy note is added. Green with water, quite hard. Green garden twine. Plant like. Palate
Soft start only getting some grip in the centre and then builds in intensity to the finish. Better neat than diluted. A bit rigid and slightly. Finish
Metallic on the finish. Comment
Nothing to write home about.
