Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Light. Juniper. Blackcurrant.
Palate
Smoky. Sweet. Malty. Peppery.
Finish
Light, leafy, sweet, refreshing, therapeutic. Sea air. With water, a touch of salt.
Comment
All the oily, waxy, junipery, bush-like flavours of Caol Ila, but the whiff of the sea comes late.

Jim Murray

Nose
A lazy, sweet peatiness contains some resounding oaky elements. Finely tuned.
Palate
A massive blast of seaweedy iodine leaves no doubt to its origins and the follow through of delightfully sweet malt and brine is awesome.
Finish
Long, lingering peat lives contentedly with the drying oak.
Comment
Top drawer stuff that balances out beautifully, retaining a stupendous freshness for its age.
