- Nose
- A shade darker and again slightly muted, almost shy. Seems more perfumed with a juicy blueberry character. Less smoky and not as much distillery character.
- Palate
- The shift is one away from overt smoke and freshness and towards jammy fruit. The smoke is there but slightly hidden behind grass and fruits. The juniper is now sloe gin.
- Finish
- Sugar-coated plums with light smoke behind.
- Comment
- I've lost the Caol Ila.[see Talisker conclusion]
- Nose
- Someone seems to have turned off the Caol Ila,the sweet smoke has gone. It's become more dark fruits than that meaty note.
- Palate
- There has definitely been a change here in character. Almost cloying
sweetness now. Bags of fruit as well.
- Finish
- Finally there is some smoke, but it's more of a signal that a fire.
- Comment
- A little unexpected and the finish seems to swamp the usual characteristics you would expect to find.
