Tasting Notes

Arthur Motley

Nose
Sherry, pineappple, lemon peel and spice.
Palate
Sherry sweetness, cooked pineapple and an all-spice character. A good chunky texture.
Finish
Lightly spicy, with a fatty edge.
Comment
Put off slightly by a fatty edge, but otherwise a balanced and satisfying malt.

Dave Broom

Nose
Hazy (even without water). Peeled turnip, herbal. Smoke, sulphur/struck match and in time some inner tube. Estery.
Palate
Off-dry. Seems to have distinct zones: a sweet bit, a coal-like smoky bit and a dry, structured bit. Spicy, better than the nose. Plump.
Finish
Sweet and long.
Comment
The elements are fighting against each other rather than pulling together. Needs something to bind them in...or time to marry?
