- Nose
- Glowing mahogany. Rich and sweet, malt loaf studded with moist raisin. A hint of sulphur giving some lift. Bitter orange peel. Layered.
- Palate
- Treacle toffee melting across the tongue. Light grip, whiff of cigar smoke Chewy. Equally good with
water,coffee,light chestnut mushroom. Elegant.
- Finish
- Long,silky touch of smoke.
- Comment
- A generously proportioned beauty.

- Nose
- Sherried. Flowering currant. Walnut stain. Coffee grounds. The sharpness of oak is soothed by sweet notes of dried fruit.
- Palate
- Sweet then bitter. The same two-step dance as on the nose. Sherry weights on the aromatic profile.
- Finish
- Lingering,spicy,bitter. Dark chocolate.
- Comment
- The distillery character is dominated by the sherry one. And the high strength makes it even more blatant.
A drop of water eases it a little.
