Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Delicate, lacey. Sweet pastry notes. Shortbread, syllabub. Blancmange, lemon curd. Lemon balm. Tangerine. Palate Sensually smooth. Coating, then covering the mouth with spicy flavours. Ginger, star anis. Finish Spicy, nutty, gently dry. Touch of liquorice. Comment A whispering dram. Nothing wrong with that. You’ve just got to tune in to its delicacy. The character is full and complex. Dangerously enticing especially with a dash of water.

Ian Wisniewski Nose Gingerbread with vanilla custard, baked apples with raisins, and a hint of spicy honey. Palate Velvety with creamy vanilla sweetness, underlying spicy oak dryness, continues with butterscotch, chocolate and cappuccino notes. Finish Chocolate, cappuccino with a subtle fruit, oaky garnish. Comment A comprehensive digestif, combining the benefits of an after-dinner chocolate, a coffee and a whisky.
