Michael Jackson

Nose
A Christmas stocking that contains toffees, chocolates, perfume and soap.
Palate
Very lightly syrupy. Chocolate. Soft caramel. Suggestions of Mars Bars or Rolo chocolates.
Finish
Fruity, with a touch of winey acidity.
Comment
The cask character somewhat dominates this zesty but delicate whisky.

Martine Nouet

Nose
Woody, resiny. Oak with cedar. Good variety of spices (cloves, cardamom). Fruit aromas hardly emerge, just an orangey hint.
Palate
Robust without being agressive. Sweet malty and honeyed flavours, then liquorice.
Finish
Warm and lasting. Liquorice and spices.
Comment
The Sauternes finish mellows the oak; but unsatisfying, except for fans of wood.
