- Palate
- Lightly creamy. Sudden rush of peat. Freshly burnt grass. Big, fresh flavours.

- Oily, salty, peppery.
- Comment
- The more Caol Ila makes itself available the more I seem to enjoy it.

- Canvas, wood smoke. Like being on Scout camp. Wet grass, smoky bacon. Water softens it.
- Palate
- Intense dry smoke hits immediately, then the smoked meat and singed heather.
- Finish
- Dry and long.
- Comment
- A very good, well-balanced Caol Ila, but not enough happening to make it complex. Ideal for beginners.
