Nose
Junipery, medicinal. Palate
Lightly creamy. Sudden rush of peat. Freshly burnt grass. Big, fresh flavours. Finish
Oily, salty, peppery. Comment
The more Caol Ila makes itself available the more I seem to enjoy it.
Dave Broom
Nose
Canvas, wood smoke. Like being on Scout camp. Wet grass, smoky bacon. Water softens it. Palate
Intense dry smoke hits immediately, then the smoked meat and singed heather. Finish
Dry and long. Comment
A very good, well-balanced CaolIla, but not enough happening to make it complex. Ideal for beginners.
