- Nose
- Heavy with wood influence. Wet cellar, damp wood. Earthy notes. Distant floral touch. Fading rose.
- Palate
- Wood speaks up on the palate as well. Dark chocolate, raisins, burst of spices. One by one, unmelted. Pretty harsh.
- Finish
- Dry, bitter. Woody.
- Comment
- A port finish? Rather brutal and overwhelming. Was the distillery character so bland?

- Nose
- Rich dried fruit, with underlying toffee, butterscotch and digestive biscuits, chocolate, then apricot jam appears.
- Palate
- Creamy créme caramel and butterscotch lead to orange marmalade, apricot jam, then a serving of chocolate mousse with subtle, dry oak.
- Finish
- Dried fruit, shortbread and spicy oak.
- Comment
- Evolves with poise and self assurance, retaining controlled sweetness.
