Nose
Grassy with a smoky echo. Very fruity. Poached pears. A sweaty touch. Palate
Sweet but crisp sensation. Tinned peaches. Savoury taste with a tangy bite. Wasabi. Dry spicinesss which tickles the tongue. Finish
Dry with a slight bitterness in the back. Comment
I wonder what type of rum casks were used. I cannot find any hint to a finish here. Don’t look for delicacy but fine if you look for a wake up call.
Dave Broom
Nose
Slightly abrasive. Some high estery/glue like notes. Immature. Water shows a smoky edge. damp grass. Palate
Better than the nose with a sweet centre. Orange zest. Rum takes charge from the middle onwards. Finish
Smooths into tropical fruits. Comment
The rum acting as a cover for what you suspect is a whisky which suffered from being in a tired cask.
