80- Nose
- Slightly smoky fruitiness (cherries?).
- Palate
- Lightly syrupy. Very fruity and winey. A firm embrace of big flavours. Quite sweet.
- Finish
- Fruity, perfumy, almost jammy. Lingering.
- Comment
- The port threatens to dominate the malt. I can't recall tasting such a powerful wood finish. Could seduce people who believe they don't like whisky. For that purpose, I would use this rather than a lighter, blander, malt.

- Nutty malt with a red jelly centre. Cakey and mellow.
- Palate
- Very sweet and rounded. Redcurrants and peaches with nuts sprinkled on top.
- Finish
- Malty. Soft.
- Comment
- Has retained the distillery character but given it a sweeter lift.
