Nose
Nutty and spicy. Dominated but not drowned in sherry. Cherries in chocolate. Dried fruit. Kumquat. Palate
Sherry leads the way. Candied chestnut. Fudge. Leather. Finish
Robust. Warm. Spicy. Comment
A distinguished expression of sweet oloroso, even if it seems a bit ostentatious on the palate. For after-dinner enjoyment.
Dave Broom
Nose
Sweet with toasted nuts, dried fruits and spices. Some light oaky tones and bracken. Water makes it slightly more fragrant: sweet hay, flowers, more spice. Palate
A sweet yet savoury start. Caramelised fruit and nut. A good, quite chewy mid-palate but all very nicely underplayed. Finish
Soft, hay-like. Comment
A cracking Bladnoch. Let’s have more like this.
