Dave Broom

Nose
Rich gold. Picks up the clean freshness seen in the 12yo, but adds a thick, caramelised fruitiness. Baked apple, golden syrup, sweet dried fruits, vanilla pod, sweet orange.
Palate
Fleshy and soft. Lots of thick millionaire shortbread. The toasted element is retained but this has richness and subtle depth. Masses of scented fruits. Opens beautifully.
Finish
Nutmeg, dried flowers and nuts.
Comment
Has richness, but is always also being pulled up adding a top layer of fragrance. Loses the impact with water, so I'd have it neat or with one rock.

Nose
A clear progression from the 12yo, where maturity deepens the elements. Malty notes and citrus burst through. Chocolate orange.
Palate
Gentle and subtle. The flavours grow slowly revealing more citrus, oranges and lemons, and then the oak grips.
Finish
Complex and oaky.
Comment
One of the big hitters in this age bracket, lives up to its reputation.
