- Nose
- Rhododendrons. Cereal-grain nuttiness but also sherry. Linseed oil on a cricket bat.
- Palate
- Fruit, raisins, fudge, cream.
- Finish
- Well balanced with a light oak dryness.
- Comment
- Slightly woody in aroma, but develops nicely.

- Nose
- Massively bourbony; a roasty, slightly nutty-sweet, cocoa-dry aroma. Fascinating sub-strata of bamboo shoots and malt. Big and complex.
- Palate
- Aged from the off: very dry oaky tones and roast malt. Very chewy.
- Finish
- Sweetens drastically with toffee-vanilla and some fading coffee on the long, tapering finish.
- Comment
- An enormous whisky which hangs together impressively for its great age.
