Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Rhododendrons. Cereal-grain nuttiness but also sherry. Linseed oil on a cricket bat. Palate Fruit, raisins, fudge, cream. Finish Well balanced with a light oak dryness. Comment Slightly woody in aroma, but develops nicely.

Jim Murray Nose Massively bourbony; a roasty, slightly nutty-sweet, cocoa-dry aroma. Fascinating sub-strata of bamboo shoots and malt. Big and complex. Palate Aged from the off: very dry oaky tones and roast malt. Very chewy. Finish Sweetens drastically with toffee-vanilla and some fading coffee on the long, tapering finish. Comment An enormous whisky which hangs together impressively for its great age.
