Whisky Magazine Issue 15
Spirit of Ireland - Isle of Arran - Vintage Malts - Blackadder.

Published April 2001.

Nose
Slightly sooty.
Palate
Sweeter than the 40%.
Finish
Spicy, grassy, smoky, slightly hot. Peppery.
Comment
The paler colour suggests less interesting casks. The higher the alcohol adds to the pepperiness. The end result is drier, more cutting, but less rounded than the 40%.

Nose
Less intense peat than the standard version. it is the dollop of marmalade that stars.
Palate
The peat forms a sweet and silky layer. Oak tends to be lumpy.
Finish
A toasty, dry finale. Maybe a little off key.
Comment
Hmmm. Not quite the babe I was expecting. Due to the rarity of this malt vattings do tend to travel the quality spectrums.
