Nose
Intense, waxy and malty. Lemon granité. A medicinal touch. Herbal. Opens on toasted hazelnuts and green tomatoes. Palate
Smooth, thick, rich and coating. Creamy at first (toffee) then getting very peppery. Finish
Very hot with a touch of green oak and almond milk. Comment
Characterful, vivid but not complex. “tastes” stronger than 40%. A body warmer for cool evenings.
Dave Broom
Nose
Coconut again, but this time shell. Beeswax. Lightly grassy. Light smoke. Palate
Light fruit. Nutty and polished. Smoke is there but not as well knitted as the 12 Years Old. Finish
Short. Smoked. Comment
Just lacks the energy and extra dimension of the 12 Years Old.
