Dave Broom
78- Nose
- Smoky. Damp earth,cowshed,vanilla, with a violet mote behind and a fleshiness akin to lychee. With water there's oak,smokeand salami.
- Palate
- Dry start with big phenols but balanced. Just a hint of soapiness in the middle when neat. Good length. Improved by water. Substantial mid palate.
- Finish
- Hot embers. Little short.
- Comment
- Robust and strong-willed. Worth a look.

75- Nose
- Slightly tangy. An animal scent. Cowshed. Pop-corns. A touch of marshmallow. Honey on a warm buttered toast. Fresh coffee. With water, Demerara sugar.
- Palate
- Sweet at start then opening on spices with a fizzy feel.Ginger, liquorice.
- Finish
- Dry,not very expressive.
- Comment
- The nose tells more than the palate. An additional touch of sweetness to balance the spices would make all the difference.
