- Nose
- Smoky. Lightly peaty. Dry.
- Palate
- Oily at first, becoming lightly smoky, then a gritty minerally character.
- Finish
- Earthy, smoky dryness and a lingering suggestion of iron.
- Comment
- A substitute for the much-missed Talisker eight year-old? Perhaps, but neither as complex nor as robust.

- Nose
- Malty and crisp. It seems pretty young with hard, lean immature notes of crab apple, unripe pear and light smoke.
- Palate
- Softer and sweeter than the nose suggests.
- Finish
- A little hard.
- Comment
- A straightforward young dram.
