Nose
Very fruity. Cherries. Peaches. Palate
Syrupy-sweet. Firm. Fruit and nuts in bitter chocolate. Toasted nuts. Finish
Slight woody bitterness. Enough to balance the sweetness, but too little to offend. Comment
Lovely glowing colour. A big Glenlivet, more robust than complex.
Dave Broom
Nose
Dense. Tobacco leaf, apple bowl/dried apple, stewed fruit, rum and raisin, cold tea. Palate
Chewy, concentrated and sweet, (cream sherry?). Treacle. Big sherry influence and firm grip. Finish
Dry bracken. Comment
The cask overwhelms things slightly.
