- Nose
- Clean and limey, scallop shells, brine, fresh salted fish. Slightly plain: hot pebbles on a beach.
- Palate
- Smoky with light juniper and thyme notes. Sufficient sweetness to offset the sooty smoke.
- Finish
- Becomes citric, this time lemon, and slightly floral.
- Comment
- A perfectly decent dram, but just lacks the required interaction between wood and spirit.

- Nose
- Tea tree, a handful of peated malted barley. Apple skins and compost. Damp woodland floor and burning wet leaves. Cigarette ash. Turned a bit grubby with water.
- Palate
- Sweet, then composty, almost like silage.
- Finish
- Wet ashtrays.
- Comment
- Fell apart with water, but fun to tussle with neat.
