Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Nose
Touch of smoke, dried grass, moss. Then apple, nut oils, toasted coconut, vanilla pod. Finally out comes sweet spices and calf leather, toffee. Complex and sophisticated.
Palate
Intense and highly spiced. Honeyed with a sweet/savoury/spiced combination.
Finish
Very long and silky. Smoke gives another dimension.
Comment
Give this lots of time. Do so and you will be richly rewarded.

Arthur Motley

Nose
Sweet sponge cake, marzipan, iced gems and a little chalkiness. With a little time and water pale sultanas, root ginger and floral notes appear among a strong lemon character.
Palate
Sweet, lots of vanilla, but with ginger powder spice too.
Finish
Candied fruits and a touch of smoke.
Comment
Elegant, complex and still forceful. It took water and developed well, holding its structure and continuing to interest.
