- Nose
- Dry oak,dry leaves. Less fresh fruit and more fruit jam. More savoury but equally clean. Good layering and no loss of complexity. Rum and raisin.
- Palate
- Softer and sweeter but also spicier: turmeric and coriander before a shift mid-palate into the fruit dominated realm.
- Finish
- Sloes and blackberries with a little nut. No obvious smoke.
- Comment
- The finish accentuates elements which are already in the whisky without dominating and obscuring the distillery character.
- Nose
- Bags of sweetness, fresh baked cherry pie,the oak has taken a back seat.
- Palate
- Fruit has moved into a more stewed state, still has plenty of sweetness, but more richness. The smoke is just there at the back.
- Finish
- Long and very warming.
- Comment
- The portwood has worked well here, enhancing the classic Cragganmore traits. Summer would be perfect for this whisky.
