Nose
Phenolic, with turfy smoke. Seems very young, with a sulphury edge. A greasy and slightly feinty note. Palate
Sweeter than the nose suggests. The peat is better behaved than you expect. Slightly medicinal and slightly better with water. Finish
Charred sticks. Comment
Ominously pale and initial suspicions were proved correct. This has been bottled way too young.
Gavin Smith
Nose
The yeasty, fresh nose of new make, plus a whiff of peat. Palate
Again, the dominant impression is of youth. Yeast and vibrant spices. Finish
Short and spicy. Comment
Is this old enough to be out by itself?
