- Nose
- Bland at first then getting rather expressive. Releases a lot of sweet notes. Maple syrup, toasted pecan nuts. A touch of cider apple.
- Palate
- Sweet with a distinctive apple and maple syrup flavour. Oak is overwhelming in a grippy bite.
- Finish
- Dry, oaky, slightly bitter.
- Comment
- That maple syrup taste works more like an additive than a natural aroma gained through maturation.

- Nose
- Ripe with lots of American oak, sweet cooked fruits, apple, oak lactone, butterscotch. Water broadens it even further. Macadamia.
- Palate
- Plump, round and full. Sinks on to the tongue but lacks a little definition. Water crisps things up, but only a little. Seems slightly off balance. Has length and depth but almost too fat.
- Finish
- Candy floss sweetness. Long.
- Comment
- Bolder and beefier than the standard.
