Dave Broom

Nose
Mellow with rich sweetness and lots of American oak character. Whisper of smoke. Honeyed with lemon zest. Becomes more pollen like with water. Good weight.
Palate
Immediate and quite thick start. Smoke is light but noticeable. Good mix of this dessert like sweetness. Greek yoghurt with acacia honey and crisp wood.
Finish
Long and soft.
Comment
Underrated and charming with surprising mid-palate weight.

Rob Allanson

Nose
Has shades of almost a dessert wine. Bags of coconut and honey laced with a citrus note, lemon.
Palate
Is is like lemon tart meeting warmed vanilla ice cream, baked Alaska. However there is a little whisp of smoke present too.
Finish
Gentle and teasing.
Comment
Often I have consigned Dalwhinnie to the freezer, but this is changing my mind. Definitely a whisky for spring.
