- Nose
- Fatter and creamier with a new tangerine marmalade note. More fragrant and smooth. There's a new nuttier note as well, while the smoke has gone. Dessert apple and sweet pear mixing with the discreet honey. Has gained a level of complexity.
- Palate
- Rounded and sweet and the grilled nut has given extra grip and interest to the palate. Orange blossom honey and almonds.
- Finish
- Longer and slightly thicker.
- Comment
- Slightly juicier and more interesting. Good balance. This works for me.
- Nose
- Seems tohavestepped up the pudding nature of the whisky. More orange zest. A little like a honey flapjack, there are shades of nuttiness and cream as well.
- Palate
- Follows on well from the nose giving bags of zest and nuts. Layers of flavours wash the mouth.
- Finish
- Big and fat.
- Comment
- Certainly an eye opener if you, like I had, thought Dalwhinnie was just for
desserts. Think again.
